Closing the loop of synthetic materials
How recycling processes give new life to textiles and plastic waste
How recycling processes give new life to textiles and plastic waste
The supply chain of textile synthetic fibre rethinks its value chain in the direction of circularity by introducing pre- and post-consumer waste from different sectors as raw materials. This allows to reduce the quantity of fossil raw materials from extraction and to “close the circle” of matter, cutting down incineration or landfilling.
New recycling processes, both mechanical and chemical, are capable of best maintaining the quality of the fibres thus obtained, increasing the number of life cycles of the material.
