Rethink footwear from your material choices

CIFORCE is a digital tool that helps designers and manufacturers make informed material choices by providing an estimate of environmental impacts right from the product design phase.

Who

Materially has been exploring innovative and sustainable materials for over two decades while providing material solutions to multi-sector users. Our mission is now to facilitate the circular transition in design and manufacturing, starting from materials

We are developing CIFORCE, a tool to rethink the way footwear is conceived and manufactured. The solution is being built with the help of SoTecIn Factory, a EU funded initiative that supports European impact-driven ventures.

Materially

Why

We are developing CIFORCE to contribute to mitigate the environmental impact of the footwear industry. With 24 billion pairs produced annually worldwide, the sector is struggling to find its way to sustainability.

Our digital solution provides support in the pre-assessment of a shoe’s environmental impact in the design phase, allowing for a responsible and target-oriented product development while fostering the dissemination of sustainable material alternatives and end-of-life solutions.

How to be
part of it

CIFORCE is currently in the development phase.
A first technological demonstrator will be ready in early 2025.

We are looking for footwear material producers and footwear manufacturers to share their insights and make CIFORCE a truly effective, industry-relevant tool.

Please get in touch with us now, no later than November 30th, and contribute to reduce the industry’s environmental footprint.

Do you design or manufacture footwear? Do you produce innovative materials for this sector?
Are you passionate about making the footwear industry more sustainable and less impactful on the planet?
