Design Momentum
At the end of June, the pre-acceleration phase of Design Momentum was inaugurated – an acceleration program promoted by Designtech and partially financed by the Lombardy Region, in which eight start-ups and SMEs operating in design innovation participate.
Materially easily identified in the bid call for companies that “will be called upon to offer potentially transformative solutions and technologies related to sustainable design and the development of the human and built environment”. It therefore decided to take on the challenge of developing a PoC (Proof of Concept) in a collaborative and synergistic context such as that of the Designtech community.
Five intense weeks of training allowed us to engage with some of the most innovative and successful Italian companies in the fields of business modeling (LUM University, School of Management), digital marketing and growth hacking (Lhub), Gen AI (Yellow Tech), sustainable entrepreneurship (LifeGate Way), venture financing (Ventive), product design (Pininfarina) and digital design (Dassault Systèmes), as well as being able to benefit from training and consultancy in the legal field (Pavesio&Associati) and HR and team management (Carter&Benson).
During the six months of the actual acceleration phase, participating companies and startups will develop PoCs representing evolutions or integrations of their core activities. Next to Materially, the selected ventures are R3plica, Puntozero3d, Deesup, Kindof, Traxit, Aura System, Prismed. They operate in different fields ranging from 3D printing to the creation of digital platforms or products, to the production of furnishing solutions or products for the living environment.
Participation in Design Momentum marks a new step in the collaboration between Materially and Designtech, the second at CoFactory, a hybrid coworking space dedicated to rapid prototyping and digital production, which is also headquarters of the Designtech ecosystem in the Certosa District.
