Standex Engraving Mold-Tech
Milano Design Week / Exhibitors / Standex Engraving Mold-Tech
This year, Standex Engraving Mold-Tech turns to art to showcase the full potential of its services and production expertise. Inspiration is everywhere. Texturing is Standex is the theme of the urban typography project developed by students from ISIA Urbino, under the guidance of Professor Marco Tortoioli Ricci.
The project focuses on the staircase leading to the Stecca3 building at ADA Stecca, which will be transformed through the chromatic and graphic interpretation of the selected student team, realised as part of a star painting workshop. In line with its mission, Standex is donating this work to the city of Milan: managing processes that bring performance and aesthetic quality to the surfaces of everyday objects – from design to texture engraving, mold maintenance, and assistance at production.
Standex Engraving Mold-Tech is a global leader in custom texture solutions, delivering enhanced beauty and functionality to products across diverse sectors including automotive, electronics, biomedical, pharmaceutical, and consumer goods we all use every day.
With a “One Partner” approach, Standex expertly manages every stage of the texturing process – design, engraving, prototyping, and tool preparation – ensuring seamless results and peace of mind for clients.
From more than 30 locations worldwide, the company supports OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, mold makers, and product designers by offering a comprehensive suite of services such as Architexture Design Studio, Laser, Chemical and Hybrid Engraving, Soft Trim Tooling, Roll- Tech, and Tool Finishing.
Standex’s commitment to innovation is evident in its advanced micro-engraved textures, which are integrated directly into injection molds for lasting durability, wear resistance, and reduced environmental impact. Clients benefit from Standex’s proprietary formula: function- driven micro and nano texture design, advanced manufacturing integration, and smart material compatibility. This approach guarantees flawless mold-to-part transfer, optimal material interaction, and measurable gains in energy efficiency, product longevity, and cost savings.
For DW 2026, Claudia Miotto, Standex’s EMEA Marketing Manager, together with ISIA Urbino students under the guidance of Prof. Marco Tortoioli Ricci, brought to life an innovative sponsorship for the Stecca3 staircase. Using Standex textures as a creative language, the project transforms a public building into a powerful work of urban typography – where inspiration becomes surface, and surface becomes art.
