Soft Interfaces

Collaboration with Material Aesthetics Lab Eindhoven University of Technology

Milano Design Week / Exhibitors / Soft Interfaces

Soft Interfaces, founded by engineer Tessa van Abkoude, is a research platform exploring sensors and actuators integrated into soft materials to create interactive interfaces. Developed as an open-source initiative, it shares experiments and fabrication methods, fostering collaboration between designers, researchers, and engineers.

At The New State of Materials exhibition, Soft Interfaces showcases engineered soft materials developed at the Materials Aesthetics Lab of the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands, highlighting their potential and future applications. These responsive materials envision a future where intelligent, adaptable materials are embedded in everyday objects – from car interiors and home textiles to wearables and furniture – enabling new interactive experiences.
