For more than two decades Materially has been the reference point in Italy in the search for innovative and sustainable materials for the manufacturing industry and for every design-driven application. We start from the idea that the material is the element around which a product must be built together with sustainable strategies involving design, R&D, production, marketing and CSR.

The origins
Material ConneXion Milan opens in Milan, soon renamed Material ConneXion Italy, as the Italian licensee of Material ConneXion Inc., one of the world’s first organizations to establish a physical materials library and a database dedicated to materials innovation.

The birth of Materially
In January 2020, Materially is founded, building on and re-launching the legacy of Material ConneXion Italy, and evolving it into an independent consulting company.
Today, Materially is an independent consultancy and a reference point in Italy and internationally for the research, selection, and application of material solutions across all design fields. With a strong design-driven approach, it bridges the needs of the manufacturing world with a focus on sustainability and circularity, promoting a creative vision of “doing good and creating beauty” rooted in Italian design culture.

A new ecosystem
Materially relocates its activities and materials library to Designtech, launching a structured synergy with Designtech and Isola Design Group and entering a new phase focused on advanced experimentation, material culture, design, and the circular transition.

Sustainability drives us
Sustainability has always been at the heart of Materially's activities, which over the years has developed a deep knowledge of the multiple roles of materials in design and production inspired by circularity principles.
